Discussion:
Ubuntu 11.04 supported yet?

Hi All,

I've attempted to install the Meego SDK on an Natty Ubuntu (classical gnome
UI) using meego-sdk-installer-online-20110519, and failed.
I realize that the SDK is only supported on 9.10, 10.04 and 10.10, but 11.04
is what I have on my dev station, so I just tried that.

The way the installer behaves is that a significant part of the installation
goes fine, including a bunch of apt repository updates, then suddenly, error
messages start to pop up:

Error during installation process(com.meego.sdk.targets.simulator.skin):

Execution failed (Unexpected exit code: 100): "/home/philippe/.config/
meego.com/sdk/pm/pm install meego-sdk-qt-simulator-skin"

(ignore, then)

Error during installation
process(com.meego.sdk.targets.components.toolchains.ia32.1_2):

Execution failed (Unexpected exit code: 100): "/home/philippe/.config/
meego.com/sdk/pm/pm install meego-1.2-sdk-ia32-toolchain
/opt/meego/meego-1.2-sdk-ia32-toolchain/,/usr/lib/madde/"

(ignore, then)

Error during installation process(com.meego.sdk.madde):

Execution failed (Unexpected exit code: 100): "/home/philippe/.config/
meego.com/sdk/pm/pm install madde
/usr/lib/madde/,/usr/share/madde/,/usr/bin/mad,/usr/sbin/mad-admin"

(ignore, then)

Error during installation process(com.meego.sdk.madde):
Execution failed (Unexpected exit code: 100): "/home/philippe/.config/
meego.com/sdk/pm/pm install utfs-server
/usr/lib/madde/,/usr/share/doc/utfs-server/,/usr/bin/utfs-server"

etc.

Is there any planned date for 11.04 support?

TIA, /Ph.

I also saw errors with the installer on 11.04 on two different computers.
Some packages just failed. The installer seems insanely big by the way.

Why is the install font so ugly, almost unreadable. Can it be changed to
use the system font ?

Likewise. One problem I noticed was that some of the paths appeared to
have commas in them e.g.

/usr/lib/,/foo

Same thing here.

I also noticed that the installer created a strange meego-sdk.list file in
/etc/apt/sources.list.d.
It contains this line:

deb http://download.meego.com/live/Tools:/SDK:/Host/Invalid/ /

Looks definitely strange, and unsurprisingly, the next run of the Update
Manager (and/or any run of "apt-get update") reports:
W: Failed to fetch
http://download.meego.com/live/Tools:/SDK:/Host/Invalid/Packages 404 Not

This is a known bug [1].
However, Ubuntu 11.04 support should come with a future SDK update, as
stated here [2]

Thank you, Luca.
I had completely missed the "Planned Updates" paragraph in the release

I'll patiently wait, then. :)

Hello,
Does meego SDK has ARMv7l RUNTIME now?
I remember there should have a runtime named qemu-n900-pr13.

But today I use a new machine, installed the SDK, but I can not find it now.

I do not know why.

Well, I think this is not the reason. I downloaded the meego SDK 1.1 twice,

First time, on pc, list runtimes , i can see n900

Second use the notebook, this is the result:
sudo mad-admin list runtimes
meego-handset-ia32-qemu-1.1.20110110.1026-runtime (installable)
meego-handset-ia32-qemu-1.1.20110118.1010-runtime (installable)
meego-handset-ia32-qemu-1.1.20101031.2201-sda-runtime (installable)
meego-handset-ia32-w32-qemu-1.1.20101031.2201-sda-runtime (installable)
meego-handset-ia32-qemu-1.1.99.0.20110329.5-runtime (installable)
meego-netbook-ia32-qemu-1.1.20110110.1049-runtime (installable)
meego-netbook-ia32-qemu-1.1.20110118.1020-runtime (installable)
meego-netbook-ia32-qemu-1.1.20101031.2037-sda-runtime (installable)
meego-netbook-ia32-w32-qemu-1.1.20101031.2037-sda-runtime (installable)
meego-netbook-ia32-qemu-1.1.99.0.20110329.5-runtime (installable)

It looks that no runtime support arm target.
